MOSAIC Opens the Door

The new FAA MOSAIC rule transforms the US light aircraft market — and Bristell is ready. Our CS-23 certified B23 is now accessible to Sport Pilots.

What Changed

Understanding MOSAIC

MOSAIC (Modernization of Special Airworthiness Certificates) is the FAA's landmark rulemaking that modernizes the definition of Light Sport Aircraft. Effective 2024, it expands weight limits, allows retractable gear, enables IFR flight, and opens the door for CS-23 certified aircraft to be flown by Sport Pilot certificate holders.

For Bristell, this means our flagship B23 — already CS-23 certified in Europe — can now be operated in the US without requiring a Private Pilot certificate. It's the same aircraft European pilots have trusted for years, now available to a much wider American audience.
